Sounds simple\, right?\n\nStarting at 6:30 p.m.\, Sunday\, July 4\, in downtown Canton\, the CTCC will host an evening of Fourth of July family events including a Watermelon Eating Contest for children\, the Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest for adult men and women\, the Fourth of July parade and a spectacular Fireworks Show put on by the City of Canton.\n\nSONIC of Canton is sponsoring our Hot Dog Eating Contest and we are anticipating a great turnout for the event.\n\nThanks to SONIC\, we are going to create a great event with a grand prize of $500 and runner up of $250. We feel this grand prize will help attract competitive eaters for our annual contest.\n\nWe are expecting to attract some real competitive eaters from around the area.\n\nThe cost to enter is only $20 and it includes your event T-shirt to wear during the contest and all the hot dogs you can eat. We are limiting the number of contestants to a maximum of 25. The first 25 to register and pay will compete.\n\n\n\nRULES: \n\n Must be 18 years of age to enter.\n Men and women may enter and compete together.\n Must present ID day of the event.\n Contestants may NOT touch hot dogs until the starting signal.\n Only entire hot dogs eaten will be counted (an entire hot dog includes the bun.)\n Contestants will have 10 minutes to down all the hot dogs they can handle.\n Contestants may drink water while eating their hot dogs.\n Buns and hot dogs may be eaten separately.\n Hot dogs may be dunked in water\, but not dissolved.\n All portions of the hot dog (including the bun) must be eaten.\n When the 10-minute time limit is up\, contestants may not put any additional hot dog or buns in their mouths.\n Contestants will have 20 seconds to swallow what is in their mouths.\n Any contents remaining in contestant's mouths at the end of 20 seconds will NOT be counted.\n Partially eaten hot dogs will not be counted.\n Visible signs of sickness will result in disqualification.\n Ties will be decided by a (3) hot dog eating contest. \n\nhttps://chambermaster.blob.core.windows.net/userfiles/UserFiles/chambers/3103/File/HotDogEatingContestflyer_2021.pdf\n\n \n \n\n\nAll Contestants MUST READ and agree to:\nI know that eating large amounts of hot dogs is potentially hazardous and an uncomfortable activity.
