Tornado Relief Information

1-800-451-1954. Please call this number if you need help after the Tornado.

If you are in need after the tornado please Call the above number or visit the Van Zandt County Fairgrounds. American Red Cross, the Lions Club and others are set up there to help you find the services you need.

As of May 8th the needs list at the Fairgrounds is:

Gatorade;  1lb bags of sugar; condiments including ketchup, mustard and mayo; sunscreen and/or caps; Brooms; rakes; Ziploc bags any size; First aid kits and supplies;  Duct Tape; Chain saw supplies including bar oil, 2-cycle oil, fuel mix and premix.

Volunteers are need EVERYDAY at the Van Zandt Fair Grounds. Please check in each day to get your armband. Colors will change daily.

We are still being told that donations of clothing and water are not being taken at this time. As we get more info we will update it here and on Facebook. Monetary donations are going to be the best help and an account has been set up. Donations can be made to the Van Zandt Co. Tornado Relief Fund 2017 and mailed to

 Crossroads church has a group from SBTC that can help with things on your properly like Tarps, a chainsaw crew etc. They will be there all week.
For lost or missing pets, please call the Canton Animal Shelter. They have quite a few animals that are being held there while we search for lost owners. Please call them at 903-567-4860. they are also in need of supplies to help these animals.

Van Zandt County curfew was lifted on May 9th but officials are asking that you please do not travel through damage areas unless necessary. We are trying to not hamper recovery efforts.

Health & Human Services is accepting application for food replacement due to loss of power.
