Ben Hendley- Chairman
Edward Jones Mr. Hendley grew up in Canton and then moved away. He has been back for almost two years. He has held membership in Rotary, Lions Club, Boy Scouts, various Baptist churches. He would like to see the Chamber improve and expand local economy and help to build the average person’s wealth.

Stephanie Smith – Vice-Chairman
Farmers Insurance – The Stanley Group Mrs. Smith held the secretary position on the Canton Texas Chamber board for 2015-2016 and is Annual Dinner committee chairman and was on the Membership committee for 2015-2016.  She also would like to see the membership drive happen as an annual event. She is set to serve on the Board until December 2018.

Cristy McDowell – Treasurer
Prothro, Wilhelmi and Company. Mrs. McDowell is member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. Her experience includes tax planning and preparation for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and not-for-profits organizations, as well as financial statement audits and reviews of local governments and not-for-profit organizations.

DeAnne Callan- Secretary
City National Bank  As a member of the Chamber for the last 3 years, Mrs. Callan has attended many Chamber events and has been in this Community most of her life. She has the hometown experience and knows many around town. She looks forward to being involved in the events planning and to be a business asset to help our unique city grow. She is set to serve until December 2019.

Brad Blakemore – Director
Van Zandt County Newspapers Mr. Blakemore is the Publisher of the Van Zandt Newspaper group. His primary interest in serving the chamber is to provide a meaningful return on our member’s annual investment and to equip our members with basic tools to improve their businesses. He has worked hard with the board to increase our visibility in the community and he believes we have built up a sense of excitement about being active in the chamber. He serves until December 2017.

Ben Carter – Director
Buttermilk’s Restaurant Mr. Carter has been in the community for three and a half years as owner of Buttermilk’s Restaurant. Ben has been involved with the Children’s Baptist Home and March of Remembrance.  He looks forward to bringing some of his ideas, including a food show, to the Chamber and has experience organizing and recruiting vendors to take part in such events. He is set to serve until December 2019.

Stacy Crossley – Director
Mill Creek Ranch Resort   Ms. Crossly is the Director of Sales and Marketing at Mill Creek Ranch Resort and is a Canton resident. She currently serves on the Tailwinds Regional Balloon Fest Board and a member of the First Leadership Van Zandt County class 2016-2017. Stacy’s experiences included; marketing, sales, events planning and management. She would like to see a focus group started with local businesses in order find common goals and needs for our community and its businesses.  She is set to serve until December 2019.

Misty Kimbrough – Director.
CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Francis Healthpark – Canton   Ms. Kimbrough has been the CFO and controller/Manager in several business and brings financial knowledge and critical thinking skills to the board. Misty is currently the manager at Christus Trinity Clinic as the manager and took this position to be more involved in her community and with family. She has been in this community for 17 years. She has been a Sunday School teacher and involved in her children’s school activities. She would like to be more active and be able to provide feedback that can help support our community and business growth.She is set to serve until December 2019.

Trisha Leggon – Director
CP Home Care Ms. Leggon as part of CP Home Care has had multiple sponsorships and participated in various chamber events, including the Annual Awards Banquet. She is a participant in the Tyler Heart Ball 2015, is on The TASCA Board, planning and organizing the Black Tie TASCA Event.  She is on the Senior Day committee for East Texas stage fair and has participated in business after hours in Canton, Tyler and Lindale area, ribbon cuttings, quarterly lunches and other events in Canton. She is interested in having a part in the chamber’s continued growth and to assist where needed. Her qualifications are her ability to plan, delegate and organize events and market them along with the ability to bring in more chamber members and educate the community on the chamber functions.

Ken Martin – Director
M & M Heating and Air Conditioning – Mr. Martin has been a resident of Van Zandt County for over 15 years. He was a member of the previous chamber and is currently a chamber board member with a term expiring December 2017. He is also a current member of the Canton Lions Club. He enjoys flying and would like to see the chamber grow to become “The Organization” helping businesses and the community grow and prosper

Amy Melton – Director
RE/Max Landmark/Amy Melton – Ms. Melton grew up in East Texas and graduated from Canton High School before moving to Austin. She returned to Canton in 2010. She is a member of the National Association of Realtors and Canton Women’s League. She is a proud supporter of the  Chamber “Shop Local” campaign and wants to inspire visitors to return to Canton to visit or live.  She is set to serve on the Board until December 2017.

Richard Mendoza – Director
Higgingbotham Brothers – Mr. Mendoza has served on the board since 2012. He has experience working on Chamber boards in both Texas and Arizona and has served on a board in three different communities. He has a vast knowledge of retail in both small and large cities and what it takes to make them successful. He is an active community member helping business based and student based events in Canton. He would like to see the Chamber be even more successful than it has become and to grow our events even further. He would like to also see trainings that support small businesses and good educational speakers at our quarterly lunches. He will serve on our Board until December 2018.

 Nicholas Varela –  Director
 All Star Ford  Mr. Varela has been on the board since July 2015 and is also a member of NAMAD next generation Ford dealers. Mr. Varela would like to see the chamber continue to grow retail business in Canton. Mr. Varela would like to encourage more people to be involved in the community and support local businesses. He will serve on the board until December 2018.
